We had our 5th Annual Phronis croquet tournament this afternoon.

A valued team event and a game of strategy, smart thinking, strong teamwork, thinking ahead and a bit of defensive play at times. All attributes that define our work and philosophy.

Some magnificent costumes took centre stage, and some even more spectacular shots were played across all games. After 5 years, many of us are beyond the novice stage but nothing where anyone has any advantage. A level playing field.

Thanks team for another great afternoon. We know you all worked a little harder than usual this week to be able to take a few hours out together. We are stronger for it. It is a real pleasure to call you all friends and colleagues. Phronis is better for each of you being part of it.

We celebrate many things at Phronis – cultural celebrations, project wins, delivery milestones, team achievements, learnings, losses! All the things that make us human and create a sense of belonging.

Today, we mark Phronis’ 10th birthday. 16th May 2012, we decided to put some real action into our vision into how we could influence infrastructure delivery for the future.

A lot has been achieved. A lot still to come. Like the child within all of us, reaching double digits is a pretty proud milestone. It has not been easy, but it has been tremendously rewarding.

Thank you to everyone who has formed part of our story over the last 10 years!. Our team, their families, our clients, business partners! Over the next few months we will be celebrating this milestone in many ways.

Our Phronis Tesla was back on the road again this week, this time on a trip to Bundaberg where Phronis Consulting has established a presence, spearheaded by our very own Brendan Sankowsky.

Brendan and Andrew Nielsen engaged with a number of clients and contacts in the region yesterday which they valued and we look forward to inspiring the delivery of some new projects in the region. The Queensland Government electric super Highway also delivered again! A great initiative making longer distance EV travel safe and confident.

In what is now our third level of prequalification in as many months, Phronis is very pleased to announce this achievement, as we set ourselves up for 2022.

We value the acknowledgement of our capability and hard work to get to this point. We look forward to working directly with the Department or partnering with any other companies who are entrusted to deliver the DTMR strategy and promise.

Phronis is proud to be providing engineering support to Sun Cable’s world-changing Australia-Asia PowerLink project by completing the civil works pre-feasibility study for the solar farm precinct (the world’s largest solar generation and battery storage facility) as well as assisting on facilities concepts in Darwin and Singapore.

We have partnered to deliver the preliminary civil engineering layout and concept design of the solar precinct and supporting infrastructure including rail sidings, airfield, helipad, road network, logistics hub, photovoltaic (PV) array, operational facilities, HV alignments, and positioning of substations, power conditioning systems and the voltage source converter. Phronis also delivered the infrastructure construction cost estimate, construction fleet estimate and fuel consumption estimate. As authors of the civil engineering pre-feasibility report, the concept planning work and costs information were drawn together to provide the basis for the next stage of development.

This really is one of those projects that will change the world and we are honoured to have been selected by Sun Cable to move the creation process forward and start making Sun Cable’s vision real.

Being involved brings real life to our purpose of inspiring delivery of world-changing infrastructure too.

Challenge: Driving waste out of infrastructure investment.

Another strategic milestone achieved for 2021.

Another step in being better positioned to support Queensland’s impressive transport infrastructure program for the future for the next 3 years.

This recognition and the challenge we’ve set ourselves of driving waste out of infrastructure investment is a formidable offering.

Kudos to the Phronis team for the great work delivered over the last few years on projects across multiple markets to demonstrate our capability in this area.

This year we’ve added support for projects in South America, and we are exploring opportunities to partner with clients in Korea and India.

Not bad for a Queensland business just shy of 10 years old.

From humble beginnings from a home office in 2012, to our fabulous HQ now in Milton, Phronis is a team of around 45 people and has continued to support clients and projects domestically and abroad. This year we’ve added support for projects in South America, and we are exploring opportunities to partner with clients in Korea and India.

Under the current circumstances, this has not been easy, but that doesn’t mean it is not possible. Inspiring the delivery of world-changing infrastructure is too important to make us take our eye off our purpose.

Phronis recently provided detailed design services for an upgrade to a biogas flare at a sewerage treatment plant. The flare was designed and manufactured in Australia by Energy 360 Pty Ltd – Biogas specialists.

Our core scope included creating structural, piping, and underground services design solutions that were integrated into the client’s existing 3D model. We also provided HAZOP facilitation services. 

Equally rewarding was the rapid responses to technical queries that were raised during construction to support the construction schedule. When faced with an unexpected challenge, the client reached out and we identified a solid solution within a few hours that would have otherwise delayed construction.
